Well of course we know there\'s a major price difference, but what about style, energy, and the ability to create a memorable event??? In NYC, bands cost between $5000 and $14,000 - yep, that is NO JOKE! Band leaders claim to share the same band members as famous touring artists like Janet Jackson, Elton John, Shakira, and Steely Dan - as well as the great orchesra pit musicians from Broadway. - so, I guess these bands are good. When these performers are not on the road, they play weddings and bar mitzvahs.
Ok, that being said. A band of that calibre will really hit the spot when it comes to entertaining our guests, but this is a party for my son - and will these bands know how to play to a room full of 13 year olds as well as my adult friends? DJs come with an Emcee - one guy controls the music while the other guy gets the kids involved in the games and keeps them on the dance floor. Yes, I have been to many bar mitzvahs and some of these DJs and Emcees are less than exciting, so how do I know who to pick and who to trust? |
